The Project Engineer is responsible for the flawless delivery of Engineering work scope, ensuring customer and legislative requirements are met in line with project timescales, cost, quality and safely executed 


Key Accountabilities


Project Planning & Coordination 


•    Develop project schedules and milestones  
•    Coordinate with design engineers, contractors, and suppliers  
•    Review project scope and ensure alignment with client requirements  
•    Attend project meetings and provide technical input 


Technical Oversight 


•    Review and validate HVAC designs and drawings  
•    Ensure compliance with codes, standards (e.g., Dw144), and specifications  
•    Approve equipment selections and submittals  
•    Resolve technical issues during design and construction phases 


Site Execution & Supervision 


•    Monitor installation activities for quality and safety  
•    Conduct site inspections and verify work against drawings  
•    Coordinate commissioning and testing of HVAC systems  
•    Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment 


Documentation & Reporting 


•    Maintain project documentation (RFIs, change orders, progress reports)  
•    Prepare handover documents and O&M manuals  
•    Track project costs and support budget control  
•    Report progress to stakeholders and escalate issues as needed 


Client & Stakeholder Engagement 


•    Communicate with clients to clarify requirements and expectations  
•    Provide technical presentations and updates  
•    Manage client feedback and ensure satisfaction  
•    Support post-installation troubleshooting and warranty issues


Requirements:


•    A minimum of HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services
•    Excellent knowledge in design and fabrication/assembly of packaged plant rooms - structural, piping, maintainability, transportation etc
•    Modular design and manufacture
•    Awareness of industry standards and legislation including CE marking
•    Customer facing, with high degree of commercial awareness
•    Understanding of requirements management and configuration and change management
•    Ideally experienced in HVAC design and design of bespoke mechanical equipment in Nuclear applications
•    Excellent knowledge in design and fabrication/assembly of packaged plant rooms - structural, piping, maintainability, transportation etc
•    Modular design and manufacture
•    Awareness of industry standards and legislation including CE marking
•    Customer facing, with high degree of commercial awareness
•    Understanding of requirements management and configuration and change management
•    Ideally experienced in HVAC design and design of bespoke mechanical equipment in Nuclear applications
•    Tendering and delivery through the full project lifecycle
•    RIBA conversant
•    Excellent communication skills
