Summary
We are looking for experienced Platers to join our client’s team at Hinkley Point C in Somerset. This is an opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s most significant energy infrastructure projects, working to the highest standards of safety and quality. Client Overview
Our client is a key player in delivering one of the UK’s most significant energy infrastructure projects, ensuring world-class safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
• Carry out plating and fabrication to project specifications and nuclear quality standards.
• Interpret and apply engineering drawings and technical instructions for accurate assembly and fabrication.
• Mark out, cut, shape, and weld metal components to precise dimensions and tolerances.
• Inspect and verify completed work for quality, safety, and compliance, reporting any non-conformances.
• Maintain accurate records where required for inspections and progress tracking.
• Take part in daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and pre-job risk assessments.
• Report hazards, incidents, and non-conformances promptly and support investigations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to site safety, PPE, and environmental procedures.
• Work collaboratively with inspectors and other trades to resolve technical queries and support smooth delivery.
Must-have Requirements
• Level 3 Apprenticeship or Diploma in Plating, Fabrication, Welding, Structural Steelwork, Shipbuilding, or equivalent.
• ACE Card Level 3 in Plating (or equivalent).
• CCNSG Safety Passport.
• Demonstrable experience carrying out fabrication and assembly in a high-risk or regulated environment.
• Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, and quality standards.
• Understanding of nuclear safety culture and site requirements.
• Effective teamwork, communication, and strong attention to detail.
• Right to work in the UK.
Nice-to-have Skills
• Connected Competence accreditation.
• Previous experience on major infrastructure or nuclear projects.
• Additional welding qualifications or fabrication skills.
