We are seeking a Program Coordinator, Industry-aligned Initiatives, who provides administrative and programmatic support for the Center for Applied Data Science and Analytics (CADSA), with a focus on industry-aligned AI, data science, and analytics initiatives.

The role supports seed and mini-grant programs that drive research, curriculum innovation, and workforce-aligned engagement through faculty initiatives, student engagement, workshops, and partnerships.

The position ensures effective program execution, communication, and reporting and reports to the Executive Director of CADSA.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Internal contacts generally include faculty, staff, and students. External contacts generally include industry partners, vendors, consultants, visitors, and the general public.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Coordinate seed and mini-grant programs (submissions, reviews, awards, compliance), including pre- and post-award administration.

  • Track timelines, milestones, and deliverables; compile reports.

  • Support industry-aligned curriculum initiatives, including faculty mini-grants and pilots.

  • Coordinate workshops, trainings, and engagement activities, including faculty bootcamps and grant writing workshops.

  • Organize research showcases, symposia, convenings, and faculty development sessions.

  • Provide administrative support for meetings (agendas, minutes, action tracking).

  • Prepare communications, reports, and presentations.

  • Maintain financial and administrative records (budgets, procurement, expenses).

  • Serve as liaison across CADSA, academic units, and partners.

  • Maintain program data, records, and digital content; support reporting and program evaluation.

  • Coordinate vendors and logistics for events, trainings, and competitions.

  • Ensure compliance with university policies and grant requirements.

  • Support student-facing initiatives such as applied projects and business case competitions.

  • Ability to coordinate events and collaborate across stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of university administration and grant processes.

  • Familiarity with curriculum or workforce-aligned initiatives preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom, SharePoint).

  • Experience with budgets, procurement, and financial tracking.

  • Ability to manage program data and reporting.

  • Discretion and confidentiality.

  • Commitment to advancing AI and data science aligned with Howard University’s mission.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and four to six years of progressively responsible administrative or program coordination experience, preferably in higher education, workforce development, or industry partnership environments.

  • Up to ten years of related work experience may be substituted in lieu of educational qualifications.

Compliance Salary Range Disclosure

Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000
