Midstream Revenue Accountant

About this role

The Midstream Revenue Accountant is responsible for tracking, managing volumes, and accounting for monthly billing and producer/customer settlement statements, among other duties.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Creates and distributes monthly invoices, remittances, and allocations for the Midstream Accounting Department.
  • Manages the monthly midstream close process and conducts analysis related to gas plant and terminal accounting.
  • Reviews monthly contract updates to ensure accurate customer settlement.
  • Prepares timely and accurate gas plant allocations and production settlement statements or invoices in compliance with midstream service agreements.
  • Communicates effectively with commercial, operations, and other stakeholders both internally and externally critical to job responsibilities.
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly revenue accruals and accrual-to-actual analytics workbook.
  • Prepares reports, schedules, and reconciliations associated with oil, gas, and NGL revenue.
  • Prepares and uploads revenue-related journal entries into the appropriate accounting system.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Maintains confidentiality of financial information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Public accounting, revenue accounting, and/or oil and gas experience are a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Waterfield experience is a plus.
  • ERP systems experience such as SAP is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Ability to reconcile complex accounts and ensure accuracy.
  • Ability to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the oil and gas industry.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience is required.

  • None

 

Physical Demands and Hazards for Office Employees:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, frequent computer use, occasional lifting of office supplies, and may involve travel.
