Measurement Technician

Job Summary:
The Measurement Technician performs quality testing, accurate calibration, and troubleshooting of gas measurement equipment to ensure its reliable operation. They are responsible for timely analytics, sampling, and maintaining the equipment's functionality.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Installs, commissions, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and maintains all gas measurement equipment including but not limited to: Dry flow recorders, EFM’s, USM’s, samplers, orifice plates, and meter tubes.
- Ensures all gas measurement and related equipment operates at peak efficiency.
- Installs, commissions, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and maintains all gas quality equipment including gas chromatographs, O2 analyzers, H2S analyzers, H2O analyzers, and composite samplers.
- Performs spot sampling and associated witnessing of custody transfer meters.
- Supports Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Prepares accurate reports and records of work performed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Possess a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
- Familiarity with EPA, DOT, RRC, OSHA, NEC, AGA, API, and GPA regulations and procedures.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Basic measurement knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow procedures accurately and completely.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently under close supervision and in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and methods.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in measurement, instrumentation, and electrical within the industry
Certifications:
- None required
Physical Demands and Hazard for Field Employees:
This position may require occasional travel to remote sites, potential exposure to flammable material, adherence to safety protocols, compliance with operating regulations, and will require rigorous physical demands.
