About this role

The Field Operator I is responsible for all aspects of pipeline operation and maintenance, ensuring the company complies with all safety and environmental regulations.    

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Starts up, shuts down, and operates compressor stations in accordance with established operating procedures. Maintains and monitors compressors, pipelines, dehydration equipment, electric motors, fans, pumps, instrumentation, valves, alarms, and other field equipment.
  • Analyzes gas flow streams and adjusts operating parameters as needed to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on gas gathering and compression equipment, including compressors, engines, pumps, controls, piping, and valves.
  • Prepares and maintains daily production reports, documenting liquid production, gas volumes, operational downtime, and other key performance metrics.
  • Maintains effective communication with supervisors, operations personnel, maintenance teams, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding ongoing projects and daily operational activities.
  • Monitors, maintains, and operates safety, environmental, and fire protection systems to ensure regulatory compliance and safe operations.
  • Performs routine housekeeping and maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Possess a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. 
  • Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude and effective troubleshooting skills in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Works collaboratively and effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and technology systems.
  • Maintains a strong commitment to safety by consistently adhering to all company safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and on-call assignments as required.
  • Maintains a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ year of experience operating pipelines and/or working in processing plants is preferred

 

Certifications:

  • None required

 

Physical Demands and Hazard for Field Employees:

This position may require occasional travel to remote sites, potential exposure to flammable material, adherence to safety protocols, compliance with operating regulations, and will require rigorous physical demands.
