JOB DESCRIPTION:
About HBX Group:
HBX Group is a leading B2B TravelTech ecosystem, connecting and empowering businesses across the global travel industry. Through our cloud-based technology platforms, we provide fast, reliable access to a diverse portfolio of travel products and services. Leveraging technology, data, and market intelligence, we help connect travel supply and demand at scale across the world.
As we continue to grow our Mobility & Experiences division, we are looking for a Platform Engineer to join the Infrastructure Team supporting our Car Rental Platform — a high-performance, low-latency integration system connecting supplier and distribution partners worldwide.
In this role, you will take ownership of the cloud infrastructure that underpins millions of travel transactions. You will work across the full breadth of the platform stack — compute, networking, databases, observability, and delivery pipelines — as part of a small, autonomous team where initiative and accountability matter more than process.
What You'll Do:
Operate and improve our AWS infrastructure across multiple environments (networking, compute, storage, databases, security).
Develop and maintain Terraform codebases for infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.
Administer and evolve EKS clusters: node pools, scaling, upgrades, ingress, RBAC.
Manage relational database services (Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS) — performance, availability, backups, disaster recovery.
Maintain and extend observability infrastructure (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch).
Participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and drive root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with development teams on infrastructure needs: service onboarding, resource provisioning, troubleshooting.
Automate operational tasks through scripting and CI/CD pipelines.
Contribute to security posture: patching, access control, WAF management, network policies.
Plan and design responses to failure scenarios, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
Technology Stack:
Cloud: AWS (VPC, EKS, RDS/Aurora, IAM, Route53, CloudWatch, WAF, Lambda)
Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
Orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS)
Databases: PostgreSQL (Aurora, RDS), MSSQL
Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Logstash, Kibana)
CI/CD: TeamCity
OS: Linux
Scripting: Bash, Python
What You'll Bring:
Significant experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles.
Solid hands-on experience with AWS services — not just theory, actual operational work.
Working proficiency with Terraform for managing real infrastructure at scale.
Experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production.
Comfortable with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred): administration, performance analysis, backup/recovery.
Knowledge of the complete stack: networking, security, operating systems, web services, databases.
Scripting ability (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and tooling.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fully remote, cross-functional team.
Capable of working very independently and in a self-regulated manner.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Big Advantage But Not Essential:
Experience with monitoring/observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance.
Exposure to WAF, VPN, or network security operations.
Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution.
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar).
Knowledge of GitOps workflows or Helm-based deployments.
Experience in high-volume integration platforms.
How We Work:
Fully remote, distributed team.
Small team, low bureaucracy, direct impact on the platform.
Agile practices: CI for environment builds, Kanban, automation-first mindset.
DevOps culture — you build it, you run it, you improve it.
On-call shared across the team; incidents are learning opportunities, not blame games.
Why Join Us:
Ownership over meaningful, business-critical infrastructure.
Variety — you won't be pigeonholed into one domain.
A platform that handles real scale and real complexity.
A team that trusts you to work autonomously and make decisions.
You will have the opportunity to work for a company that is going through significant change in becoming the world´s leading travel services provider. We are looking for people that are ready to ride the wave in this exciting journey.
As well as an attractive benefits package you will be able to work:
Within an innovative, engaging and multicultural environment.
Have the opportunity to build strong and lasting business relationships and friendships from around the world.
Have the opportunity in developing your career locally or within one of our beautiful working locations across the globe.
