About this role

Main Activities and Responsibilities.

  • Operate and support electronic assembly equipment according to approved work instructions, safety requirements, process settings, and production schedules.
  • Perform equipment setup, changeover, startup checks, shutdown, cleaning, material loading, feeder or tooling preparation, and basic program or recipe selection.
  • Support SMT and related processes such as solder paste printing, SPI, component placement, reflow, AOI, through-hole insertion, selective or wave soldering, coating, depaneling, inspection, test, and rework.
  • Monitor equipment and process conditions; identify alarms, defects, jams, wear, abnormal sounds, leaks, temperature issues, and other signs of equipment or process instability.
  • Respond to production calls and Andon escalations; restore equipment to standard condition when within training and authorization and promptly escalate higher-risk problems.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspection, lubrication, cleaning, calibration checks, filter changes, wear-part replacement, and basic adjustment using approved procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, sensor, conveyor, feeder, fixture, tooling, and basic control-system issues using drawings, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Replace approved components and assemblies; verify safe operation after maintenance or repair and document work completed, parts used, and follow-up needs.
  • Support engineers and maintenance personnel with equipment installation, qualification, trials, process changes, capability studies, and new product builds.
  • Collect and enter production, defect, downtime, maintenance, and equipment data; help identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate equipment logs, checklists, spare-parts records, setup sheets, visual standards, and troubleshooting instructions.
  • Inspect work for visible defects and process compliance; support containment, root-cause investigation, corrective action, and verification activities.
  • Use ESD controls, required personal protective equipment, lockout/tagout practices where authorized, and safe handling methods for chemicals, solder, tooling, and equipment.
  • Help train operators on correct equipment operation, setup checks, routine care, defect recognition, and escalation expectations.
  • Participate in 5S, standard work, Kaizen, and other continuous-improvement activities; provide practical feedback to engineering and operations.
  • Provide shift support and occasional off-shift or weekend support based on manufacturing needs.
