About this role

A seasoned California-licensed employment litigator who can manage complex cases independently, supervise junior associates, and build lasting client relationships. • Take ownership of cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, law and motion, and appearances before agencies like the EEOC, CRD, and DLSE.
  • Work closely with clients to provide preventative counseling on workforce management, HR policies, and compliance with California’s complex employment laws.
  • Contribute to the growth of the practice by servicing existing firm clients and developing your own portable book of business.
  • Lead case strategy and supervise the work of junior associates, providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Represent a diverse client base, from Silicon Valley tech companies to middle-market businesses, on their most critical employment law matters.

What Hoge Fenton is looking for

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.
  • 8+ years of employment law litigation experience.
  • Experience representing clients in court, arbitration, and before administrative agencies (EEOC, CRD, DLSE).

  • Experience advising and counseling employers on the full spectrum of employment law issues.
  • Strong legal education fundamentals (JD or equivalent) from an accredited law program.
  • Experience defending against FEHA, Title VII, wage and hour, class, and PAGA claims.
  • Ability to bring a partial book of portable business.
  • Experience with analytical, negotiation, and consulting skills in a legal context.
  • Experience at AmLaw 200 and/or respectable midsize or regional firms.
  • Proven track record in handling complex employment law matters.
  • Willingness to be based in Silicon Valley, Tri-Valley, or Peninsula office.
  • Industry experience serving Silicon Valley tech companies and other mid-market businesses.
