Family Law Associate
About this role
Hoge Fenton is seeking a mid-level Family Law Associate to join our downtown San Jose-based Family Law group. This role focuses on advising clients across a broad spectrum of family-law issues, handling complex financial matters, custody concerns, and settlement negotiations, while collaborating with a tight-knit team to secure favorable outcomes.
What youll do
- Represent clients in all aspects of family law cases, including complex financial issues, custody, and domestic violence.
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
- Prepare for and engage in settlement negotiations, hearings, and trials to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in our family law group to deliver the best results.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and community engagement.
What Hoge Fenton is looking for
- 4+ years of legal experience with demonstrated interest in Family Law.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the State Bar of California.
- Demonstrated ability to handle client matters independently and effectively.
- Proven ability to collaborate with other attorneys and experts to identify legal issues and plan case strategies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially in court settings.
- Experience drafting discovery, pleadings, and preparing financial disclosures.
- Experience representing clients before judicial officers and in mediations.
- Experience working with experts.
