The Opportunity

Manage transformer service projects from planning through completion, overseeing scope, schedules, resources, budgets, vendors, and customer communication. The role coordinates cross-functional teams, addresses project risks and execution challenges, tracks performance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Project work supports the reliable maintenance and repair of transformer assets while helping ensure successful project execution, customer satisfaction, and compliance with quality, safety, and environmental requirements.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Manage the full lifecycle of transformer service projects from initiation through closure.

  • Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and third-party contractors.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining communication and managing expectations throughout project execution.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues while developing contingency plans.

  • Monitor project progress, track KPIs, and provide regular updates to management.

  • Manage project budgets, approve expenditures, and support cost-effective project delivery.

  • Support post-project reviews and continuous improvement of project management processes and tools within the Services Division.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.


Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or an associate degree with more than seven years of experience in the transformer or substation field.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in project management with a focus on transformer services or heavy industrial equipment.

  • Experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

  • Understanding of transformer technology, maintenance, and repair processes preferred.

  • Proficiency with project management software, including MS Project or Primavera P6.

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
