About this role
Job Type:
PermanentBuild a brilliant future with Hiscox
A high-visibility role at the intersection of strategy, data and commercial execution.
You will help turn senior relationships with the world’s leading insurance brokers into insight, coordinated action and measurable growth across Hiscox.
The opportunity
The Broker Accelerator is building a more connected, data-led approach to Hiscox’s most important global broker relationships. It brings together business units, underwriting and distribution teams around a focused set of brokers, creates a clearer view of opportunity across the Group and helps senior dialogue translate into action.
This is not a traditional sales-support role. It is an opportunity for an analytically strong, commercially curious professional to help build the operating model, insight capability and executive rhythm behind a Group-wide growth initiative. You will work close to senior decision-makers, tackle ambiguous problems and see your analysis converted into real commercial activity.
What you will do
Own the operating rhythm for priority broker relationships, coordinating plans, meetings, decisions and follow-through across multiple business units.
Turn fragmented quantitative and qualitative information into concise, decision-ready insight for senior leadership.
Prepare executive briefings for strategic broker engagements, combining trading data, market intelligence, relationship context and live opportunities.
Build and improve the One Hiscox broker intelligence capability, helping define requirements, workflows and adoption for a single view of each relationship.
Maintain a clear view of material opportunities, dependencies, owners and next actions; challenge slippage and help teams remove barriers to progress.
Analyse broker performance, trends and relationship activity to identify gaps, patterns and potential growth opportunities.
Create high-quality governance materials, dashboards and narrative updates for senior forums.
Work with distribution, underwriting, data and technology colleagues to standardise information, reduce manual effort, and improve decision quality.
Support structured engagement with external broker placement, distribution and strategy teams
What makes the role distinctive
Enterprise-wide exposure: work across UK, US, London Market, Europe and reinsurance businesses rather than within a single business unit.
Executive access: prepare and support senior-level interactions with major global brokers and Hiscox leadership.
Build not just maintain: shape new processes, data products and ways of working as the Broker Accelerator develops.
Commercial impact: connect analysis and operating discipline directly to relationship quality, opportunity progression and growth.
Career breadth: develop strategy, analytics, programme delivery, stakeholder management and insurance market expertise in one role.
What we are looking for
A strong academic foundation in a STEM, economics, finance, or similarly analytical discipline.
Typically, three to four years’ experience in consulting, deals, analytics, transformation, corporate strategy, financial services, or another rigorous commercial environment.
Confidence working with data and translating analysis into clear implications, recommendations, and executive-level materials.
Excellent structuring and problem-solving skills, with the judgement to bring order to incomplete or ambiguous information.
A track record of coordinating work across multiple stakeholders and maintaining momentum without relying on formal authority.
Clear, concise written and verbal communication, with high standards of accuracy and presentation.
Commercial curiosity and an interest in how companies grow, distribute products, and build strategic partnerships.
Comfort moving between detailed analysis and the wider strategic picture.
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel capability; experience with CRM, Power BI, workflow tools or AI-enabled analysis would be useful.
Insurance experience is desirable. The ability and appetite to learn the insurance market quickly matters more.
How success will be measured
Senior broker engagements are consistently well prepared, purposeful, and followed through.
Leadership receives timely, accurate and decision-useful broker intelligence.
Priority opportunities have clear ownership, next steps, and transparent progress.
Broker plans, CRM records, and pipeline information are reliable and auditable.
Cross-business collaboration becomes easier, faster, and more consistent.
Manual reporting is progressively replaced by scalable processes and better tools.
How you will work
You will combine the discipline of a consultant or analyst with the pragmatism of an operator. The role suits someone who is intellectually curious, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership. You will be expected to ask good questions, simplify complexity, build trust across teams, and create momentum through clarity.
Key relationships
Internal: Group Broker Relations; business-unit distribution and underwriting teams; senior leadership; data and technology partners; finance and operations colleagues.
External: Strategy, distribution and placement teams at major global brokers.
Risk, conduct and control
The role requires careful handling of confidential broker intelligence, accurate and auditable reporting, and clear separation between relationship coordination and underwriting decisions. Commitments must remain within agreed governance and authority.
Why this is a strong next move
For someone coming from a Big Four, consulting or analytical background, this role offers the chance to move from advising to owning outcomes. You will retain the variety, senior exposure and problem-solving intensity of professional services, while developing deeper commercial judgement and seeing initiatives through from insight to execution.
