The Warehouse Technician II is responsible for various warehouse tasks throughout the day to include order pulling, product receiving, shipping, labeling in a higher volume warehouse. This Technician will need to have clear communication skills, be a problem solver and be a team player that will also support the training of other team members. An ideal candidate will function as a multi-tasker and cover all areas of operations in the warehouse.
Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
High accuracy in order picking, shipping and receiving of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
Consistently performs and helps others in all areas of 5S (sort, straighten, shine, standardize, and sustain)
Responsible for performing in other areas of the warehouse as needed
Responsible for cross training other employees as required
Certified and or trained to operate all necessary equipment in the warehouse in accordance with safety operating procedures/manuals
Must follow ISO 9001 Quality standards
Understands and performs OSHA & EH&S specific guidelines
Comply with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
Performs job functions in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and statement of work (SOWs)
Must facilitate two-way communications with coworkers and supervisory personnel to ensure full customer satisfaction
Indirectly responsible for product quality
Reports any instances of misconduct, including violations of the code of conduct, harassment, abusive language, theft, or other inappropriate behavior, to the direct supervisor
Other duties as assigned
QualificationsEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements:
High School diploma or GED required
IATA and CFR49 Certificate of completion
Forklift certification and training for all types
Knowledge of OSHA and EH&S requirements
2+ years warehouse operations experience, preferably from industrial, electronics assembly, or aerospace and defense distribution disciplines
Experience with creating statements of work (SOW)
Experience in inventory management systems, preferably in a chemical or industrial setting
Strong communication and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
Computer literate in MS Word and Outlook; working knowledge of shipping and receiving software.
Ability to read/write in English is required
Warehouse management system experience (TWL experience with an RF gun is preferred)
Physical Requirements
Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when necessary.
