Manager, Process Monitoring

Basic Function
Job Duties
- Leads and develops a high-performing team of Process Engineers and Monitoring Engineers within the MidCon Monitoring Center, establishing clear priorities, technical standards, and performance expectations
- Provides strategic oversight of monitoring operations, ensuring effective execution of monitoring processes, governance, work management practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Directs process engineering activities to monitor asset and unit performance, providing advanced technical guidance and operational recommendations that support refinery safety, reliability, and profitability objectives
- Owns and advances the enterprise process monitoring strategy, including monitoring technologies, analytics platforms, reporting frameworks, predictive monitoring capabilities, and digital transformation initiatives
- Partners with refinery leadership, site engineering teams, technology managers, reliability organizations, and process specialists to identify, assess, and mitigate operational, reliability, and performance risks across the refining network
- Establishes and drives best practices in proactive performance monitoring, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, and failure prevention to improve asset utilization and operational excellence
- Builds organizational capability by coaching and mentoring technical professionals, developing pipeline talent, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning
- Manages strategic relationships with external vendors, technology providers, and industry partners to ensure effective delivery of services, technical support, and continuous enhancement of monitoring capabilities
- Develops and manages departmental goals, budgets, resource allocation, and performance metrics to ensure alignment with business objectives and long-term organizational priorities

Required Skills
Proven leadership ability. Advanced time-management, organizational, project planning and management skills; demonstrated competency in the execution of multiple projects. Advanced verbal and written communications and reading skills; advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate to others; presentation, negotiation and organizational skills; ability to communicate technical plans, strategies and designs with all levels of the organization. Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations. Proficient in cost containment; knowledge of refinery principles, safety practices, and regulatory compliance procedures.

Today, HF Sinclair
- Manufactures and sells high-value light products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, renewable diesel, specialty lubricant products, and specialty and modified asphalt.
- Owns and operates refineries and/or renewable diesel facilities in Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
- Markets and distributes motor fuel to consumers via more than 1,600 independent Sinclair-branded stations in 30 American states.
- Produces low carbon renewable diesel from multiple feedstocks including vegetable oils and animal fats.
- Produces base oils and other specialized lubricants in the U.S., Canada and the Netherlands and exports such products to more than 80 countries.
- Owns a 47% limited partner interest and a non-economic general partner interest in Holly Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE: HEP), a midstream petroleum products and crude oil transportation, terminalling and storage company.
