Senior Software Engineer

Hex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing full-stack team building AI-powered data tools. You’ll own features end-to-end, collaborating with product, AI research, and customers to scale the Hex platform. This role directly shapes how teams create, collaborate, and derive insights from data with next-generation AI workflows.

What youll do

• Own features end-to-end across the full stack to improve the core Hex user experience.
• Collaborate with embedded AI engineers and the research team on context engineering, prompting strategies, and model selection to deliver reliable AI workflows.
• Design and architect seamless integrations with Slack and other tools to meet customers where they work.
• Enhance developer workflows with AI-powered code typeahead and in-product reviews.
• Solve complex UX challenges around multiplayer editing, real-time collaboration, and performance at scale in data-intensive apps.

What Hex is looking for

• 4+ years of full-stack development experience
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Strong proficiency in React for building complex user experiences
• Experience leading projects end-to-end
• Experience building 0-to-1 products
• Experience at companies building block-style products for a technical user base (e.g., Notion, Retool, Airtable)
• Strong CS fundamentals
