About the Role

The Sales Manager drives sales and business development across identified markets and product portfolios to generate sustainable order intake, expand the customer base and deliver profitable business growth aligned with organisational strategy.

 

Qualification and experience:

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Relevant postgraduate business or commercial qualification will be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in sales, business development or strategic marketing within a technical, engineering, defence or high-technology environment.
  • Experience managing complex customer engagements, bids, proposals and commercial opportunities.
  • Experience developing new markets, customers and business opportunities within local and international environments.
  • Experience working with technical products, systems and solutions will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Business Growth

Develop and execute sales strategies across identified markets and product portfolios to generate sustainable business opportunities and strengthen market presence, resulting in achievement of order intake, revenue and gross margin objectives.

 

Customer and Market Development

Develop and manage strategic relationships with existing and prospective customers, partners and end users across local and international markets to identify requirements and create new business opportunities, resulting in increased customer retention, market penetration and sustainable business growth.

 

 Opportunity, Bid and Commercial Management

Manage sales opportunities, bids, proposals and commercial activities throughout the business acquisition lifecycle to align customer requirements, pricing and business objectives, resulting in competitive solutions and profitable order intake.

 

Market Intelligence and Product Strategy

Analyse market dynamics, competitors, customer requirements and emerging opportunities to provide actionable market intelligence and inform product and product-line strategy, resulting in improved business decisions and competitive market positioning.

 

Sales Governance and Stakeholder Coordination

Coordinate sales and business acquisition activities across internal stakeholders, customers, partners and external parties while applying required commercial, export and compliance controls to enable effective opportunity execution, resulting in controlled and successful business acquisition.
