About this role
Are you interested in how goods move around the world, how international supply chains work and how many people and processes interact along the way? Then this apprenticeship is an exciting opportunity for you.
At HELM, you will organize the worldwide shipment of our products, from our suppliers’ production sites to customers or storage locations. You will learn how transports are planned and how goods are stored, picked and forwarded.
You will work with different modes of transport such as sea freight, trucks or air freight and gain a good understanding of how reliable and transparent supply chains are created. Customs, foreign trade and international communication will also be part of your daily training. Some of your communication will take place in English.
The practical part of your apprenticeship at HELM is complemented by classes at the Berufsschule für Spedition, Logistik & Verkehr in Hamburg.
What you will learn with us
• You plan and coordinate international transports and learn which steps are needed to make them work.
• You work together with service providers, customers and international business partners.
• You gain insights into storage, handling, picking and onward transportation.
• You learn the basics of customs, foreign trade and VAT in international commerce.
What you ideally bring
• A secondary school certificate, advanced technical college entrance qualification or comparable school qualification
• Good German and English skills
• Interest in business topics and international processes
• Enjoyment in organizing, keeping an overview and finding solutions together
• Curiosity, openness and enthusiasm for working in a team
