This pivotal role contributes to the efficient operation of our offset printing press by assisting with setup, maintenance, and operation. Your dedication and precision will play a vital part in our commitment to delivering top-quality printed materials.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Head Pressman and Production Manager, following their guidance and instructions to ensure a seamless workflow.
  2. Safety and Maintenance: Safely operate and meticulously maintain the press and associated equipment and systems, fostering a secure work environment.
  3. Plate Handling: Bend and proficiently install plates on the press, ensuring accuracy and alignment.
  4. Paper Preparation: Prepare paper for the press, seamlessly creating roll splices without compromising the continuous web.
  5. Product Stacking: Bundle and stack printed products on skids, occasionally utilizing strapping equipment, and preparing materials for mailing as needed.
  6. Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area by diligently sweeping, mopping, and disposing of trash daily, ensuring a safe and efficient workspace.
  7. Equipment Maintenance: Conduct press maintenance tasks as required, either proactively or as directed by the Head Pressman or Production Director.
  8. Urgency: Maintain a sense of urgency when it comes to addressing press waste and making necessary color adjustments on the press, guaranteeing quality and efficiency.
  9. Job Ticket: Carefully review the job ticket for each assigned task to execute jobs accurately and in accordance with specifications.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Press Trainee Experience (Preferred): Ideally, we are seeking candidates with prior experience as a press trainee or similar roles to bring their knowledge and skills to the team.
  • Clamp Truck Certification: Possess a valid clamp truck certification to safely handle materials and products.
  • Mechanically Inclined: Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, enabling efficient equipment operation and troubleshooting.
  • Dependability: Be a reliable and punctual team member, consistently meeting work commitments and deadlines.
  • Team Player: Foster a cooperative and collaborative work environment by working effectively within a team and supporting colleagues.

Additional Requirements:

  • Lifting: This position includes a general lifting requirement of 40-50 pounds, ensuring that you have the physical capacity to manage material handling as part of your responsibilities.

  • Drug Screen: Successful candidates will be required to undergo a drug screen as part of the hiring process to maintain a safe and drug-free workplace.
