Part-Time News Photojournalist/Editor
About this role
WGAL-TV, the NBC affiliate serving the Lancaster-Lebanon-Harrisburg-York, PA market, is seeking a Part-Time Photojournalist/Editor who is passionate about impactful, multi-platform storytelling through compelling visual media.
We are looking for a self-motivated, creative storyteller who can capture the essence of what’s happening in the field and deliver it seamlessly across broadcast, digital, and social platforms. The ideal candidate understands how audiences consume content differently on television, mobile, and social media—and can adapt storytelling styles seamlessly.
This role would require field shooting, editing, and executing live shots, while also producing content optimized for linear TV, station websites/apps, and social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
The winning candidate is tech-savvy, forward-thinking, and fluent in modern newsgathering tools and formats. You must be able to shoot with Sony XDCAM or similar ENG cameras, as well as mobile-first tools like iPhone, gimbals and emerging digital formats, with editing in Adobe Premiere or comparable platforms.
Familiarity with ENG, SNG, and cellular “backpacks” (TVU, LiveU, etc.) for live transmission and file transfer is essential.
Strong editing skills, excellent time management, clear communication, and a sharp editorial eye are critical. A commitment to high journalistic standards and visual excellence is a must. If you’re quick-thinking, adaptable, and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-platform newsroom, we want to hear from you.
