Registered Nurse, PCU travel assignment in Plattsburgh, NY. Start date: 10/19/2026. Duration: 16-26 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,560-$2,757 per week. Guaranteed hours: not guaranteed. Shift: 3x12 Nights. This assignment is in an acute inpatient progressive care/telemetry unit within a hospital setting. Travelers will float to appropriate units as needed and participate in a Resource Float team.

- Setting: Progressive Care/Telemetry unit within a hospital environment

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult PCU patients, including those with acute coronary syndrome, post-procedural cardiac patients, and telemetry-monitored cases.
- Monitor hemodynamics, administer insulin and cardiac drips as ordered, initiate IV lines, manage medications, and adjust therapies per protocol and physician orders.
- Perform continuous ECG/telemetry monitoring, interpret arrhythmias, respond to alarms, and escalate changes in patient status promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians, unit clerks, and ancillary staff; document care in the EMR (Epic) and ensure accurate handoffs at shift change.
- Support patients with complex needs such as BiPAP/CPAP with compromised gas exchange, and provide frequent observation for patients receiving high-risk therapies.
- Float to appropriate units as part of the float team while maintaining patient safety and quality standards; adhere to unit protocols and infection control practices.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio on the unit is 3:1; maintain professionalism, communication, and patient advocacy throughout assignments.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license or proof of application with applied date (packet required at submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
- NIHSS required prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry/PCU experience; minimum 1 year of specialty experience
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years
- Ability to work nights and to float to appropriate units as needed
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice competencies
