Responsibilities
- Lead onboarding and staff orientation; manage competency assessment and tracking for clinical staff
- Develop department-specific educational training; promote evidence-based practice and support clinical research initiatives
- Ensure AHA life safety compliance; assist with policy updates and training as needed
- Provide mentorship and professional development for staff; support student placements and on-the-job education
- Collaborate with committees and cross-functional teams (unit practice councils, risk management, quality improvement, ethics, infection prevention)
- Apply the nursing process to identify practice gaps, plan learning activities, and evaluate outcomes to improve patient care
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Licensure: Valid, current, unrestricted RN license to practice in any state, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association; ANCC Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialty certification (if none, complete certification review within 6 months and attain within 1 year of hire)
- Experience: Three (3) years of acute care nursing (e.g., ICU, PCU, ER, PACU); at least one (1) year in clinical education and staff professional development within the past two years; one (1) year of verifiable staff orientation or related educational teaching
- Additional: Ability to function effectively in an acute care setting as a travel nurse; orientation schedule and expectations will be observed
