Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and families to gather case history.
- Plan and provide nursing care for adolescent inpatients; perform nursing diagnoses and contribute to treatment planning.
- Administer psychotropic and other medications; monitor for reactions and report concerns.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain a safe, secure environment for patients and staff; manage safety protocols as needed.
- Document all patient information in medical charts, follow physician orders, and maintain confidentiality; perform routine progress notes and administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Active New York registered nurse license (NY license required only)
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- CPI Certification
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Ability to work in an inpatient behavioral health setting and to participate in rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by unit needs
