About the Role

As our Project Manager Assistant, you’ll be the driving force behind smooth project delivery. Working closely with experienced Project Managers you’ll coordinate tasks, track progress, communicate with stakeholders, and keep everything running like a well-oiled machine. This role is perfect for someone who loves problem-solving, multitasking, and making sure no detail is missed. You’ll quickly become an indispensable part of our team and you’ll have fantastic opportunities to grow your project management career.  You will have the opportunity to support a team of engineers across a number of projects, locations and ventures. About You

We are seeking Project Manager Assistant with excellent organisation and management skills who has experience in construction and / or engineering arena and can show their capabilities in what they have delivered. Someone that can demonstrate drive and the ability to motivate others, someone who is adaptable to change and keen to add value in this key sector for us. You should be able to clearly demonstrate their ability to deal with our customers be it through project leadership or business development, client facing skill are a key consideration.

Responsibilities 

  • Support the Area Business Group Manager and leadership team in the effective operation and strategic development of the business.
  • Promote and champion the implementation of HDR project management, commercial, quality and risk management processes.
  • Contribute to business planning activities including workload forecasting, resource planning and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development, mentoring and performance management of Project Managers and project delivery staff.
  • Participate in recruitment, talent development, succession planning and retention activities as required.
  • Encourage technical excellence, innovation and adoption of best practice across all project teams.
  • Provide support and guidance in project reviews, project recovery plans and resolution of complex delivery challenges.
  • Contribute to bid reviews, project pursuits and mobilisation activities for major opportunities.
  • Promote collaboration across business groups, disciplines and geographic regions to maximise value for clients and the business.
  • Support the continuous development of project management standards, procedures, templates and lessons learned programmes.
  • Undertake project audits, governance reviews and quality assurance activities as required.
  • Ensure compliance with HDR Quality Management Systems, environmental management procedures and all applicable company policies.
  • Champion a culture of safety, integrity, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Represent HDR professionally within industry forums, client organisations and professional institutions.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the successful operation and growth of the business.

     

     

Requirements 

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant industry experience
  • Prior experience working within a design consultancy and project team environment.
  • Demonstrable understanding of engineering design and coordination processes.
  • Working towards professional registration (IEng, CEng, APM PMQ or equivalent) desirable.
  • Interest in developing a long-term career in project management and project delivery.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with project planning tools such as MS Project desirable.
  • Experience working with engineering design and document management systems desirable.
  • Ability to analyse and present project information effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Comfortable dealing with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
  • Good meeting management and reporting skills.
  • Positive and professional approach to teamwork
  • Good understanding of engineering design and project delivery processes.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Understanding of project lifecycle principles and delivery methodologies.
  • Interest in developing a career within project management
