Product Development Engineer
We are currently looking for a Product Development Engineer who will directly contribute to the creation and release of next-generation, customer-specific sensor products. This engineer will need strong design skills, a passion for exploring new applications, and the ability to partner with customers to craft customized solutions that meet their needs and business interests.
As part of a small dynamic team, this position will enhance your toolbox with exposure to a broad range of applications we service, from agriculture, robotics, to medical. We need self-motivated individuals with a strong skill set in finite element modeling software and excellent communication skills to work across our organization with customers, technicians, engineers, the sales team, and business managers.
Primary responsibilities
- Strong, creative-minded individual to develop and create customized sensor solutions
- Work with our sales team and customers to define cost effective sensors for our marketplace
- Work with manufacturing team to develop production processes and test protocols
- Identify, and validate materials appropriate for specific applications
- Generate concept designs, cost estimates, and performance specifications
- Support the ISO 9000 quality system as appropriate
- Actively contributing during department meetings and project-specific meetings including customer interaction
- Travel to customer and manufacturing plant locations when necessary
Professional qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in mechanical engineering, master’s degree preferred
- Must have a minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience in mechanical design
- Experience with project management a plus
- Interest in business aspects of projects
- Excellent communication skills, strong presentation skills
- Excellent knowledge of stress analysis and finite software
- Demonstrated working knowledge of FEA software preferably Creo
- 5 to 10 years in product development
Personal skills
- Demonstrated ability to use the PC, including MS Word, Excel, Windows, and SAP.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including team-based problem resolutions.
- Effective interpersonal skills, ability to function as a team member and address conflict constructively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 annually plus 10% bonus. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state
