About this role

Position Summary

The Quality Inspector performs in-process inspections on all manufactured parts produced as well as inspection of raw materials and other resources as required.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Part identification and marking, as well as handling part counts and movement to various work centers
  • Marking of production parts in inspection gauges, or by use of templates
  • Performs visual, dimensional and mechanical inspections on machined parts, incoming materials and product from outside processing to insure specifications and documentation is correct
  • Maintains inspection tools and controlled drawings in good condition.· Inspects for surface finish, hardness, and other visual dimensional and mechanical requirements
  • Performs inspection of parts using comparator and all associated gauges

Experience and Education

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum one (1) year quality inspection of metal parts
  • Experience with Quality Systems (ISO, AS, NADCAP)
  • Ability to use a variety of precision measuring devices and utilize inspection fixture and gages
  • Ability to work from blue prints, specifications, written and verbal instructions
  • Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically, ability to view parts and/or raw material to inspect for defects and dimensions using blueprints/drawings
  • Basic computer skills
