Senior Proposal Manager

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Proposal Manager for our NYC office to lead proposal development across our Northeast region while managing and mentoring a team of proposal coordinators. This role serves as a strategic partner to regional leadership, helping shape pursuit strategy, elevate proposal quality, and drive continuous improvement across the proposal process.
The ideal candidate is an experienced proposal leader who thrives in a collaborative environment, develops strong teams, and turns complex technical information into compelling, client-focused proposals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support proposal coordinators through the full pursuit lifecycle
- Manage, mentor, and develop the proposal team
- Partner with technical leaders on pursuit strategy, messaging, and go/no-go decisions
- Lead proposal planning, compliance reviews, and production efforts for key pursuits
- Guide interview strategy, presentation development, and rehearsal efforts
- Perform final quality reviews to ensure compliance, accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment
- Oversee resumes, project descriptions, and other reusable proposal content
- Maintain pursuit data in Deltek and support regional reporting and planning
- Supervise the graphics team lead, who manages the graphics team and its workload for proposals and presentations
- Continuously improve proposal processes, tools, and best practices
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of proposal, marketing, or business development experience, preferably in the AEC industry
- Experience managing proposal or marketing staff
- Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong strategic thinking and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with Adobe InDesign; much of our proposal production is done in InDesign
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), Bluebeam, and Deltek Vantagepoint a plus
