Staff Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer
Join Harvey's Site Reliability team to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of a legal AI platform serving 1000+ customers across 58+ countries. As a Staff SRE, you'll own the infrastructure and systems that keep the platform fast, secure, and always on while working at the intersection of infrastructure and product. Your work will directly support Harvey's rapid growth across 50+ global regions.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and manage monitoring, alerting, and infrastructure resources across 50+ global regions.
- Lead incident management processes, including postmortems, root cause analyses, and driving actionable improvements.
- Automate operational tasks and workflows to maintain high reliability and reduce manual intervention.
- Establish best practices for security, compliance, and reliability across the software lifecycle.
- Optimize infrastructure costs through strategic capacity planning and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership to foster team growth and operational excellence.
What Harvey is looking for
- 10+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or similar production support roles, with a proven ability to mentor technical teams.
- Expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Pulumi, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Deep familiarity with observability tools like Datadog and Sentry, and incident response practices such as PagerDuty and IncidentIO.
- Proficiency with major cloud platforms including Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.
- Proven track record of diagnosing complex system problems and implementing durable solutions.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, Kubernetes, containerization, networking, databases, and cloud security principles.
