Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Product Engineering team, you'll own and lead engineering projects across our product lines, working closely with AI, Legal, and GTM teams to build secure, scalable systems that serve 1000+ customers across 58+ countries. What you'll do

• Own full-stack engineering projects across multiple product lines, from early conception to long-term outcomes
• Build retrieval systems operating at petabyte scale across documents and data
• Design organizational-level interfaces enabling teams to collaborate with AI systems
• Manage dedicated GPU capacity and infrastructure across 5+ regions
• Develop backend platforms supporting complex workflows, including 1000-step planning agents
• Implement government-level security standards for sensitive legal and professional matters
• Evaluate and integrate LLMs across large-scale task taxonomies
• Architect systems handling internet-scale data collection from 50+ jurisdictions

What Harvey is looking for

• 6+ years of post-degree experience in product-focused full-stack software engineering roles
• Proven track record building fast-growing SaaS products, ideally leveraging modern web technologies
• Strong backend platform experience capable of supporting multiple product lines
• Demonstrated ability to ship highly intuitive products with strong attention to detail
• Solid programming fundamentals and general Computer Science knowledge
• Grit and bias toward action; early-stage startup experience is a plus
• Comfort working in ambiguity and ownership mentality across the full product lifecycle
