Software Engineer, Developer Experience (DevEx)

Join Harvey's Developer Experience team to build foundational platforms—including CI/CD, internal frameworks, and developer tooling—that power hyper-growth and let engineers ship ambitious AI features rapidly and safely. You'll embed reliability, automation, and simplicity into every workflow, shaping how an AI-native company develops software and accelerating confidence across the engineering organization.

What you'll do

• Develop and scale Harvey's developer platform, boosting velocity and stability through robust CI/CD systems, test frameworks, and reliable environments.
• Build load testing and benchmarking infrastructure that evaluates and optimizes the performance of AI-native applications.
• Integrate AI agents across the software development, deployment, and maintenance lifecycle to pioneer the future of engineering and site reliability.
• Partner with Backend Platform teams to embed testability, reliability, and observability into the foundational platform.
• Gather feedback, evangelize best practices, and build the "paved road" so every Harvey engineer can move fast with confidence.

What Harvey is looking for

• 3+ years of software engineering experience building scalable backend systems or internal developer platforms.
• Proficiency in Python or similar languages, with deep knowledge of backend fundamentals and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems (Buildkite, GitHub Actions), test frameworks, and load or performance testing.
• Hands-on experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Pulumi, Terraform).
• A track record of high-quality, well-tested code and adherence to software development best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for improving developer experience through foundational tools and frameworks.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across teams.
• Experience integrating AI agents into developer ecosystems is a strong plus.
