About the Role

As the IT Communications Specialist, you will ensure the clarity, consistency, and transparency of communications for the Digital Automotive function. You will plan and execute a variety of communications for multiple stakeholders, using many communications channels, specifically including the function’s intranet site. You will report to the Digital Automotive Organizational Change Management (OCM) & Communications Leader. This is a communications-led role, and the primary responsibility is to ensure the right information is created, structured, delivered, and maintained to effectively support Digital Automotive initiatives.

What You Will Do

  • Plan and create high-impact communications (presentations, email, long-form writing, video, etc.) to diverse audiences. Partnering with leadership to develop clear, compelling narratives and executive-ready materials that support the Digital Automotive brand.

  • Curate the content, drive the user experience, create and publish pages and libraries, and otherwise own and maintain the Harman-facing Digital Automotive intranet site as the primary repository for our Harman-facing artifacts and brand experience.

  • As assigned, lead and support communications and adoption efforts for Digital projects with a significant user impact, which may include serving as a member of the project core team.

  • Implement a process to ensure materials/artifacts that are the Single Source of Truth for our operations are controlled and remain current.

What You Need to Be Successful

The ideal candidate combines outstanding communication skills with strong project management discipline, a structured approach to content and knowledge management, and the ability to thrive even in changing or ambiguous situations. You must have:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable messages

  • Expert-level PowerPoint skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

  • Strong SharePoint experience managing content, structure, and user experience.

  • Project management capabilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously

  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, global, cross-functional environments

  • Ability to work both independently and as a trusted team member as needed

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Experience in an IT or Digital function and/or in global organizations across multiple time zones

  • Experience managing or supporting organizational change initiatives

  • Experience creating video or multimedia content for communications or training

  • Background in process analysis and improvement

  • Familiarity with knowledge management or content governance practices

  • Willingness to flex business hours as needed to support activities in the Novi, Michigan, USA office and occasionally other time zones.
