We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our New York City office.

Responsibilities
- Perform electrical design across transportation projects. Deliverables include one-line diagrams, control schematics, panel and conduit layouts, lighting and photometric designs, cable and equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
- Size and specify distribution equipment, motors, motor control, variable frequency drives, switchgear, transformers, standby generators, UPS, and cable systems.
- Develop control system design and coordinate I/C equipment.
- Run power system calculations and studies. Load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, voltage drop, and cable sizing.
- Perform field work. Condition inspections, existing conditions surveys, acceptance testing, and commissioning support.
- Support construction phase services through submittal review, RFI response, and field engineering.
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, civil, and controls engineers on integrated designs.
- Support project managers with scope, fee estimating, and schedule. Manage budgets and deliverables on assigned tasks.
- Direct and check CAD production in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 5 to 10 years of electrical design experience on transportation, infrastructure, industrial, utility, or heavy civil projects.
- PE license, or EIT with a clear path to licensure within 12 months.
- Working knowledge of the NEC and NFPA 70E.
- Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution, motor control, and variable frequency drives.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Ability to perform field work at active infrastructure sites. This includes climbing ladders, working at height, working over water, and confined space entry.
- Willingness to travel for site visits, inspections, and client meetings. Travel is typically short duration and averages 15 to 25 percent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Traction power experience. Substation design, overhead contact or third rail distribution, negative return, grounding and bonding, or stray current control.
- Water and wastewater experience. Pump station power, MCC design, VFD applications, and integration with SCADA.
- Roadway, highway, or tunnel lighting design, including photometric analysis and lighting controls.
- Bridge, tunnel, or transit facility electrical design or inspection experience.
- Power system modeling in ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or EasyPower.
- Multiple state PE licenses or an NCEES record.
Salary range — $125,000-150,000 annually. Salary commensurate with level of experience.
