Manager – Inland Operations
About this role
- Lead and drive inland operations across assigned geography,
ensuring operational excellence, service reliability and cost optimization
while delivering superior customer experience. - Develop and implement strategies to optimize inland logistics, rail operations
and network performance through continuous process improvement and
data-driven decision making. - Partner with Customer Service and Commercial teams to understand
customer pain points, improve inland service delivery, reduce customer effort
and proactively minimize operational escalations. - Drive inland business growth by providing market intelligence, operational insights
and customer-centric logistics solutions in close collaboration with Commercial teams. - Lead initiatives to maximize equipment utilization by reducing empty repositioning,
identifying cabotage opportunities and improving container turnaround. - Develop and drive rail network optimization strategies, including block train planning,
FIFO implementation, VDS development and improved rail service reliability. - Establish operational governance through regular KPI reviews, analytical reporting
and performance dashboards to drive continuous improvement. - Lead cross-functional projects involving Commercial, Customer Service,
Equipment Management, Procurement, Rail Operators, Terminals and
Global/Regional Operations teams. - Identify opportunities for digitalisation, automation and standardisation of inland
processes to improve productivity and operational efficiency. - Represent Hapag-Lloyd at industry forums, customer meetings and strategic
discussions with key inland logistics partners. - Coach and mentor team members while fostering a culture of ownership,
collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
