Summary: 

This position will drive the administration, standardization, and continuous improvement of engineering systems, engineering data, and digital engineering processes across Hanwha Aerospace USA. This includes the overall responsibility for ensuring that engineering systems, tools, and processes are standardized, reliable, and capable of supporting the Engineering organization in delivering efficient and manufacturable solutions to the in-house customer. 


The Engineering Systems & Technology Manager will provide functional leadership to CNC Programmers across all business units to ensure consistent programming standards, CAD/CAM best practices, and knowledge sharing, while partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, IT, Quality, and Continuous Improvement to support the continual flow of product through the manufacturing process.

 

Essential Functions:  

  • Administer and maintain engineering systems, applications, and related configurations to ensure reliable support of engineering and manufacturing activities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain engineering standards, workflows, and standard work procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality across engineering processes.
  • Maintain engineering data, documentation, templates, and CAD/CAM standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and effective use across the organization.
  • Provide functional leadership to CNC Programmers across all business units, establishing consistent programming standards, CAD/CAM best practices, and knowledge sharing.
  • Build CNC programming bench strength by identifying learning and development opportunities and supporting the ongoing technical development of CNC programming personnel.
  • Coordinate engineering system improvements and enhancements with IT, software vendors, Global Engineering, and other functional organizations.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve engineering processes, automate activities, eliminate non-value-added work, and improve engineering productivity.
  • Support Engineering Managers and manufacturing operations by providing effective engineering systems, tools, standards, and technical support to support the continual flow of product through the manufacturing process.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement, operational excellence, and technology initiatives, including the evaluation and implementation of new engineering systems and digital capabilities.

  

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical engineering or other related field
  • 8+ years of experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • 4+ years of management experience


Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Experience with CAD/CAM systems (Siemens NX preferred).
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructions
  • Ability to initiate, record, recommend, verify, and implement corrective actions or solutions to problems relating to product, process or quality system.
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures and authority to issue purchase orders for subcontracted services 
  • Knowledge of ISO 9002 standards and demonstrated ability to lead or support implementation initiatives to ensure compliance and maintain certification
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel domestically – 25% max
