About this role

Job purpose

Support the planning, implementation, and inspection of civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and hands-on experience in construction site inspection, materials testing, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.

Duties and responsibilities

· Perform on-site inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

· Assist in reviewing construction drawings, blueprints, and project documentation.

· Monitor contractor performance and verify work progress.

· Document daily activities, prepare inspection reports, and communicate findings to senior engineers.

· Ensure materials and workmanship meet required standards and approved procedures.

· Report and follow up on any non-conformities or issues identified during inspections.

· Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical issues.

· Support testing and commissioning activities as required.

· Maintain up-to-date records and logs related to project inspections and compliance.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software is a plus.
