Job DetailsJob Location: Corporate 901 - Oklahoma City, OK 73105Job Category: Corporate PositionsThe Assistant Controller supports the Controller in overseeing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end and year-end close processes. This role helps ensure accurate financial information, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient accounting procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
Oversee general ledger activity and ensure accurate account balances.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash-management functions.
Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls and procedures.
Coordinate audit and tax-related requests with external accountants and auditors.
Research and apply applicable GAAP and accounting policies.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
Supervise, train, and support accounting staff as needed.
Assist the Controller with special projects and financial analysis.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
Proficiency with Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CPA candidate.
Experience with financial statement preparation and audits.
Experience with ERP implementation or process improvement.
Prior experience in a multi-entity or rapidly growing organization.
