At Georgia State University, the Payroll, Time and Absence, and Payroll Accounting & Reporting department issues more than 100,000 payments each year to approximately 15,000 faculty, staff, and student employees within the university.
The Payroll Department is seeking to hire a Lead Payroll Administrator. This position assists with leading the team responsible for ensuring GSU employees are properly compensated in a timely manner.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
The position is responsible for processing the biweekly and monthly payroll cycles. This position processes the payrolls for graduate assistants and part-time instructors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Manages the Part-time Professor/Graduate Research Assistant (PPGRA) system.
- Resolves issues encountered by our end-users.
- Manages system loads into the HCM system.
- Oversees payroll for our Graduate Assistants and Part-time Instructors.
- Assists with Biweekly, Monthly & Off cycle payrolls.
- Supervises the Payroll Practitioners responsible for the completion of the payrolls.
- Performs other Payroll related responsibilities as requested or needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and two years of payroll accounting and supervisory experience; or six years of payroll accounting experience with two years in a supervisory role; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
- Fundamental Payroll Certification
- Certified Payroll Professional
- Strong organizational skills and highly detail-orientated professional
- Ability to comfortably work in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
- A high degree of discretion, professional ethics, and judgment in confidential matters and information.
- Requires good interpersonal communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and managers.
- Good written communication skills are also required.
