About this role

We are looking for an experienced MongoDB Database Engineer to support enterprise-scale Digital Products and Digital Onboarding initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in MongoDB database administration, architecture, performance tuning, clustering, and database migrations within large-scale technology environments.

This role offers an opportunity to work on multiple high-impact technology projects involving mission-critical database platforms. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in fast-paced environments, managing multiple priorities, and supporting complex database infrastructure and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, administer, and maintain MongoDB database environments across enterprise platforms.
  • Support technology projects involving Digital Products and Digital Onboarding initiatives.
  • Manage MongoDB database deployments, upgrades, migrations, and performance optimization activities.
  • Configure and administer MongoDB Replica Sets and Sharded Cluster architectures.
  • Perform MongoDB backup and restore operations and ensure database availability and reliability.
  • Execute database patching, version upgrades, and environment maintenance activities.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Manage database migrations across environments with minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams to support project deliveries.
  • Participate in Agile delivery practices and support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provide production support and troubleshoot database-related issues across environments.
  • Support out-of-hours and weekend activities when required for critical deployments or maintenance windows.
Required Technical SkillsMongoDB Administration
  • Strong hands-on experience in MongoDB Database Administration.
  • Excellent understanding of MongoDB architecture and internal components.
  • Strong experience with:
    • MongoDB Replica Sets
    • MongoDB Sharding
    • MongoDB Ops Manager
    • MongoDB Backup & Restore mechanisms
    • Database patching and upgrades
    • Performance tuning and optimization
    • Database migrations
    • Mongo Query Language (MQL)
Operating Systems
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Unix
    • Linux operating systems
Database Technologies
  • Experience working with Open Source database technologies.
  • Exposure to other database platforms will be considered an advantage.
Automation & Scripting (Nice to Have)
  • Exposure to modern automation technologies such as:
    • Ansible
    • Jenkins
    • Terraform
  • Experience with scripting languages including:
    • Bash
    • Python
Delivery Methodology
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent technology projects.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology delivery practices.

  • 4+ years of experience working in large enterprise environments.
  • Banking or Financial Services industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation initiatives will be an added advantage.
Preferred Certifications
  • MongoDB-related certifications are highly desirable.
  • Relevant database or cloud certifications will be an added advantage.
