Credit Services (Collections) Officer 

As our highly valued Credit Services (Collections) Officer, your role will be the first point of contact for customers with overdue or overdrawn accounts, working with them to understand their circumstances and find practical solutions to bring their accounts up to date. 

Supporting our purpose of helping every Australian own their own home. 

You’ll make an impact by: 

  • Managing inbound and outbound customer calls, including providing financial assistance support where appropriate 
  • Working with customers to negotiate and implement suitable solutions to resolve account arrears 
  • Progressing accounts through the collections lifecycle and recommending recovery action where required 
  • Reviewing and responding to written customer communications within required timeframes 
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer records 
  • Investigating and responding to enquiries relating to Comprehensive Credit Reporting 
  • Delivering positive customer experiences while achieving agreed performance measures 
  • Ensuring all activity complies with relevant legislation, policies and processes 

Do things differently with us 

To succeed in this role, you’ll have: 

  • 2+ years’ experience in Financial Assistance, Collections or Recoveries within financial services 
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver positive customer outcomes, including when navigating sensitive or challenging conversations 
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate customer records 
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team 
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Working knowledge of relevant financial services standards, codes and legislation 
  • A customer-focused, outcomes-driven approach and the ability to balance customer needs with commercial and compliance requirements
