Senior Software Quality Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Quality Engineer with at least 5 years of total software testing experience to join our QC Department. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in manual testing across web applications, APIs, and databases, along with solid expertise in API and UI test automation using Java-based technologies. The candidate will contribute to test strategy, automation framework development, quality risk identification, and collaboration with development, product, and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to identify test scenarios and quality risks.

• Design and execute manual tests for web applications, APIs, and databases.

• Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.

• Develop and maintain UI automation tests using Selenium WebDriver, Java, and TestNG.

• Develop and maintain API automation tests using REST Assured, Java, and TestNG.

• Validate REST APIs using Postman and automated API testing frameworks.

• Perform database validation using SQL queries.

• Execute performance tests and analyze performance results.

• Report, track, retest, and manage defects throughout their lifecycle.

• Maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and execution reports.

• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide clear testing progress and risk updates.

• Support junior quality engineers and promote testing best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in software quality control and testing.

• Strong manual testing experience across web applications, REST APIs, and databases.

• At least 2 years of experience in UI and API automation.

• Between 6 months and 1 year of performance testing experience.

• Strong experience with Java, Selenium WebDriver, REST Assured, TestNG, Postman, SQL, and Git.

• Very Good understanding of REST APIs, automation frameworks, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices.

• Experience with Maven and automation script coding best practices and automation design patterns such as Page Object Model and Fluent.

• Familiarity with JMeter and containers.

• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar test management and defect-tracking tools.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

• ISTQB Foundation Level certification is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Automation Frameworks such as Shaft Engine.

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps.
