What You'll Own
As our QA Assistant, you'll help keep every batch on track by supporting Greenhead's GMP, food safety, and quality assurance programs. This role exists to make sure our documentation is solid, our checks are consistent, and our standards stay high-so customers get safe, great-tasting product.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with monitoring, verification, and recordkeeping tied to GMPs, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety
- Help maintain accurate QA documentation and electronic records
- Support training activities and continuous improvement efforts
- Spot quality concerns and communicate them quickly and clearly
What you'll bring:
- Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety principles
- Familiarity with FDA regulations/seafood processing (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Comfort with Microsoft Office and electronic record systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

A Morning in QA
Your day starts early (Monday–Friday) with a quick check-in and a game plan for the shift. You'll spend time moving between the floor and the office-reviewing logs, confirming paperwork is complete, and helping keep records tidy and easy to trace. Along the way, you'll connect with teammates to clarify questions, share updates, and keep information flowing. Expect a steady rhythm: focused desk time, quick walk-throughs, and short conversations that keep quality and food safety front and center. By the end of the day, you'll feel good knowing the details are buttoned up and the next shift is set up for success.

Our lobsters are harvested by a dedicated fleet of Stonington, Maine lobstermen and women, many of whom have been delivering their daily catch of lobsters from the waters of Penobscot Bay to the Greenhead Lobster docks for generations, carrying on the strong fishing heritage of their families and this small island community located in the Gulf of Downeast Maine.
We are the only company that handles every step in-house, from our dock to your door. Wholesale or retail, we take pride in our wild-caught, Stonington, Maine lobster.
On the docks daily for 25 years, Greenhead Lobster is Maine’s largest family-owned lobster supplier. Nestled in the Gulf of Maine, the Penobscot Bay provides the perfect environment for producing sweet lobster—cold, clean water, rocky, rural shores. The result is the most delicious, tender, sweet lobster, delivered to our docks every day.
Our dockside tank rooms filter ocean water, providing the most natural environment to hold lobsters while they are graded for size and quality. Lobsters for the live market are then trucked to our Seabrook, NH fulfillment facility. This tank room location makes shipping nation and worldwide easy.
After 25 years in the live lobster business, owner, Hugh Reynolds, recognized the importance of quality seafood processing and invested in creating the highest quality processing facility, located just 40 minutes from our Stonington, Maine docks. This investment allows Greenhead Lobster to have quality control over every step of processing.
Using a High Pressure Processor (HPP) is what sets lobster processors apart. Sending live lobsters through our HPP allows for the quickest, most humane death. This stress-free, non-thermal process preserves flavor + texture.
