Job Summary
The BOM Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate Bills of Materials, manufacturing documentation, and production standards to support efficient production. The role collaborates with Engineering and Production to ensure technical data, material consumption, and labor standards are accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and establish standard times for manufacturing processes to support efficient production operations;
Review execution drawings and technical documentation for new products to ensure compatibility with manufacturing capabilities;
Prepare standard labor hour documentation by workstation and product, including production line takt time requirements;
Calculate and define standard consumption of welding consumables, paint, and other production materials, and support product costing activities;
Develop work instructions, operation plans, and manufacturing procedures for standard production, rework, and repair activities;
Analyze workstations to ensure compliance with quality, occupational health and safety, and operational requirements;
Continuously update manufacturing processes, labor standards, and material consumption based on approved engineering changes;
Develop and implement technical solutions to improve manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency;
Prepare labor cost estimates and quotations in response to RFQs (Requests for Quotation);
Monitor compliance with established manufacturing processes and provide recommendations for process improvements;
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, and cross-functional teams to support new product introduction and process optimization;
Provide technical support and guidance to production personnel to resolve manufacturing-related issues;
Maintain accurate manufacturing documentation and ensure workplace organization and cleanliness;
Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Your Profile:
Technical high school diploma or post-secondary technical education (mechanical, industrial, or a related field);
Previous experience in a manufacturing or technical environment is considered an advantage;
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation;
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and production documentation;
Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or another ERP system is an advantage;
Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams;
Good English skills (written and spoken).
