About this role

Responsible for providing technical support in underwriting and product development in relation to all class of insurance across all distribution channels.

 

The Job

 

Underwriting

·         Monitor underwriting standards and ensure they are aligned to the Company’s business strategies and underwriting policies

·         Achieve sustainable and profitable underwriting outcome for all products written

·         Provide technical support in underwriting for all distribution channels

·         Handle underwriting referrals and product enquiries from all distribution channels

·         Review policy/clause wordings and maintain the policy wording library

·         Review, monitor and management of Fire, Personal Accident and Bond accumulation

·         Conduct quarterly underwriting quality review

·         Review and update of SOPs, Proposal Forms and underwriting documents

·         Run reports and validate accuracy (example: quarterly underwriting performance report, accumulation, premium register, etc)

·         Keep up-to-date with market products, pricing and activities in the Personal & Commercial Lines space

 

Product Development

·         To coordinate all stages of product development, from initial concept to finalization and distribution

·         To develop or revamp products based on business needs and requirement

·         Assist in market competitor analysis (including benefits and pricing comparisons)

·         To coordinate the entire product management process including coordinating the review and its submission for approval

·         Ensuring the satisfactory completion of post-launch reviews

·         Coordinating the Annual Product Review and its submission to Group Product Management and Approval Committee (GPMAC)

 

Others

·         Ensure compliance with all laws, regulatory provisions and Group policies in relation to Company's operations



·       Tertiary education or professional insurance qualification

·       Minimum 3 years’ working experience in general insurance industry or technical knowledge in underwriting and reinsurance

·       Possess analytical and problem-solving abilities, collaboration and communication skills

·       Good interpersonal skills

·       Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

·       Team player and able to work independently
