About this role
Role Purpose
The Certification & Homologation Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring that all vehicles, parts, and accessories comply with regulatory requirements for commercialization in Chile and Peru.
This role is responsible for leading and coordinating certification and homologation processes, supporting product launches, and ensuring the timely obtaining and maintenance of regulatory approvals.
This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong regulatory expertise, project management capability, and engagement with both internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies within the automotive industry.
Key Accountabilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Certification Management
- Lead and coordinate the homologation and certification processes for vehicles, components, and accessories across Chile and Peru
- Ensure compliance with all applicable technical, environmental, safety, and regulatory standards in both markets
- Manage all required technical and regulatory documentation for certification approvals and renewals
- Act as the primary point of contact with government agencies, certification bodies, and industry associations
Product Launch & Lifecycle Support
- Support new product and vehicle launches by ensuring homologation requirements are met within defined timelines
- Manage certification renewals, updates, and maintenance to ensure continued commercial availability of products
- Review technical specifications and product documentation to validate compliance with regulatory standards
- Assist in the homologation of hybrid and electric vehicles, where applicable
Cross-Functional Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate activities with internal teams, suppliers, testing labs, and regulatory entities
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and commercial teams to ensure alignment on certification requirements
- Provide regular updates and reporting to key business stakeholders on certification status and milestones
Regulatory Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor regulatory changes in Chile and Peru and assess their impact on current and future products
- Identify risks, opportunities, and compliance gaps, proactively recommending corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize homologation processes, reduce approval timelines, and increase operational efficiency
Reporting & Data Management
- Prepare status reports, compliance metrics, and performance tracking dashboards
- Ensure proper organization and management of certification data and documentation
- Leverage Excel and analytical tools to track progress and support decision-making
Candidate Profile:
Experience & Capability
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Solid experience in homologation, certification, regulatory compliance, product engineering, or related areas within the automotive industry
- Proven experience working with regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and testing laboratories
Familiarity with automotive regulations in Chile and Peru is highly desirable - Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle homologation is a plus
Technical Strength
- Strong knowledge of automotive certification and homologation processes
- Solid understanding of vehicle regulations, safety standards, emissions requirements, and compliance frameworks
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, engineering specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Intermediate to advanced level of English (both written and verbal)
