At the Singapore Polytechnic School of Business, we believe in creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences that develop students' critical thinking, creativity, adaptability and problem-solving skills. Through applied and experiential learning, students are given opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-world business contexts and develop the confidence to take initiative and respond to new challenges.

This is a hands-on academic role with a strong focus on student development, programme delivery and teaching. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with youths and is comfortable taking an active role both in and beyond the classroom.

A key part of the role is to lead, plan and execute student development and entrepreneurship-related programmes, events, learning journeys, overseas programmes and other school initiatives. The appointee should be organised, adaptable, resourceful and able to take ownership of programmes from planning through to delivery, including coordinating students, colleagues, industry partners and other stakeholders, as well as managing the necessary logistics and administrative arrangements.

The appointee must be competent and comfortable teaching in at least one of the following subject areas. Prior teaching experience would be advantageous:
• Business foundation modules such as Marketing, Human Resource Management or Business Negotiation
• Entrepreneurship or Innovation-related modules

[What you will be working on]

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan, coordinate and execute school programmes, events, student development activities, entrepreneurship-related initiatives, learning journeys and overseas programmes, including managing the necessary logistics, budgeting, administration, documentation and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver and administer assigned modules, including teaching, learning activities and assessments.
  • Provide pastoral care, guidance and support to students.

[What we are looking for]

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience and/or professional experience.
  • Relevant qualification in Business, Entrepreneurship, Innovation or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in teaching and working with students, with genuine concern for their learning, development and well-being.
  • Self-driven, adaptable and resourceful, with good time-management and problem-solving skills.
  • Organised, responsible and able to manage multiple teaching and programme-related responsibilities.
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, start-ups or the innovation ecosystem would be an advantage.

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
