Gordon Highlander is seeking an experienced Sustainability Program Manager to lead sustainability initiatives across our commercial construction projects while helping establish and grow a new client service offering.
As the Sustainability Program Manager you will be working closely with Operations, Preconstruction, Project Management, and Clients, you'll integrate sustainability into every stage of the project lifecycle, helping clients achieve their environmental, operational, and business goals.
This is a unique opportunity to build a sustainability program from the ground up. You'll help develop internal standards, create client-facing services, and position Gordon Highlander as a leader in sustainable commercial construction.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop sustainability strategies that align with client goals and certification requirements.
- Support proposals, client presentations, and project pursuits.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners.
- Collaborate with design and preconstruction teams to identify sustainable building solutions.
- Evaluate materials, systems, and carbon reduction opportunities.
- Manage sustainability documentation, certifications, and compliance across multiple projects.
- Prepare sustainability reports, dashboards, and client presentations.
- Develop internal tools, training, and best practices.
- Stay current on industry trends while helping grow Gordon Highlander's sustainability program.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, sustainability consulting, architecture, engineering, or a related field
- Experience supporting sustainability initiatives on commercial construction projects
- Working knowledge of LEED, WELL, Living Building Challenge, or similar certification programs
- Strong understanding of sustainable building practices, energy efficiency, embodied carbon, materials selection, and environmental reporting
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels
Professional Certifications
Required (or willingness to obtain within 12 months):
- LEED Green Associate (GA)
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)
Preferred:
- Living Future Accreditation (LFA)
- WELL AP
- TRUE Advisor
- Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP)
