  • The Hanger - Textiles position at GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF DALLAS INC is designed to support the organization's mission by efficiently managing and organizing donated textiles. This role is crucial in ensuring that donated items are processed and presented in a manner that maximizes their potential for resale, contributing to the charitable goals of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort and categorize donated textiles according to established guidelines to ensure proper processing and resale.
  • Hang and display textiles in an organized and visually appealing manner to attract potential buyers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the textiles area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing and turnover of textiles.
  • Assist in inventory management by tracking quantities and types of textiles received and processed.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons with inquiries related to textiles.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings to stay informed about organizational policies and procedures.
  • Support the organization's mission by actively promoting its values and objectives through daily activities.

QualificationsRequired Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience in a retail or warehouse environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with textile handling or garment processing is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment is preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure quality control and proper handling of textiles.
  • Good organizational skills to efficiently manage and sort inventory.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks, including lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed.
