  • The Grader - Textiles position at Goodwill Industries of Dallas Inc is integral to supporting our charitable mission by ensuring the quality and categorization of donated textile goods. This role involves evaluating and sorting textiles to maximize their value and usability, contributing to the organization's efforts in providing job training and employment opportunities to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and grade donated textiles based on quality, condition, and type.
  • Sort textiles into appropriate categories for resale, recycling, or disposal.
  • Maintain accurate records of graded textiles and report any discrepancies or issues.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet organizational standards.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • Provide feedback on textile trends and inventory needs to support sales strategies.
  • Uphold Goodwill Industries of Dallas Inc's commitment to sustainability and community service through responsible textile management.

QualificationsRequired Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience in textiles or garment grading preferred.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or charitable organization is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the operations of a warehouse or retail environment.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately assess the quality and condition of textile items.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
  • Physical ability to lift and move textile items as required.
