Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a project focused on building backend applications and data pipelines that combine machine learning algorithms with real-world user data. The work will help optimize the delivery of SEO link content, improving page rankings and increasing organic traffic to a large-scale consumer web platform.
This is a backend-focused role centered on Python application development, relational databases, and application integration with data stored in Snowflake or Databricks. The role also requires basic familiarity with HTML and React, although frontend development is not the primary focus.
Enterprise experience strongly preferred.
## Key Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and enhance production backend applications and services using Python.
Develop and support data pipelines that combine machine learning outputs with real-world user data.
Integrate backend applications and services with data stored in Snowflake or Databricks.
Work with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases in support of production applications.
Write unit tests and contribute to maintainable, production-quality software.
Work within established CI/CD pipelines and version-control practices.
Support basic frontend development needs involving HTML and React when required.
Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders while working remotely within U.S.-based EST/CST hours.
Qualifications
## Must-Have Skills
Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining backend applications in Python.
Experience with unit testing frameworks.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
Experience using version control.
Experience writing maintainable, production-quality software.
Hands-on experience with MySQL.
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
Basic understanding of HTML.
Basic understanding of React.
Experience integrating backend applications or services with data stored in Snowflake or Databricks.
## Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.
Experience with MongoDB.
Experience with MongoDB Atlas.
AWS experience.

Remote contract opportunity.
Candidates must be located in LATAM.
Full-time engagement at approximately 40 hours per week.
Must be able to work U.S.-based EST/CST hours.
Contract currently expected to continue through March 31, 2027.
