Director of Operations
About this role
The Director of Operations provides financial and administrative support for the School of Education, including budget tracking, invoice processing, contract preparation for adjuncts, and coordination of graduation applications, course approvals, and student issue resolution.
Work Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Salary: $55,000- $60,000 annually
Essential duties:
- Review and track discretionary expenses for the department to ensure accuracy of budgetary needs.
- Review and Process expense reports and invoices for travel, hospitality, conferences, and memberships.
- Ensure that policies and processes are communicated to department employees.
- Construct contracts for all adjuncts, mentors, supervisors, and other employees paid by semester or session.
- Keep track of student movement during the semester so that employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Monitor course design/redesign requests and approvals to ensure that faculty are paid on time for coursework.
- Approve Graduation Applications, including answering questions and determining where errors may be. This includes sending approved students the Christian Leadership Survey.
- Request and submit weekly highlights for Academic Affairs.
- Work with students and school administration as well as other departments across the university to resolve student issues.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s desired
Candidates must have:
- Excellent organizational skills
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to understand financial and budgetary processes.
- Proficiency in understanding SOE programs
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, university employees and faculty
