Internship Program Overview:

Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GF, you’ll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.

Summary of Role:

We are looking for an intern from a technical background with a keen interest in sustainability. The intern will gain real-world experience managing the environmental aspects and impacts of a high-tech manufacturing facility and learn technical skills such as carbon accounting and auditing. The intern will also see firsthand what goes into planning and implementing environmental efforts and be exposed to new sustainability trends and upcoming regulations.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Make improvements to the Environmental Management System, including automation and Big Data efforts.

  • Perform carbon emissions verification to comply with the requirements of the Carbon Pricing Act.

  • Support Carbon Tax audit by external auditors.

  • Analyse and support other waste reduction, water reclamation, wastewater treatment, air emissions control, environmental awareness and other projects and operations as necessary.

  • Develop and lead Earth Week activities and promote environmental awareness.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree

  • Must be in good academic standing.

  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

  • Available for a 16–24 week credit-bearing internship commencing January 2027.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience

  • Interested in the green industry

  • Works well in an unstructured environment and independently as necessary

  • Able to communicate with a wide spectrum of stakeholders
